Information about rebuild transmission A6LF1/2/3, A6GF1, A6MF1/2
The A6LF1 is counting as very reliable and durable automatic transmission. New modification, which came out on 2011, is matching to engines, which have 1.8-2.5 liters’ volume and is easy to repair. Further came out “light” modifications A6GF1 and A6MF1/2 which are designed for motors, which have not more than 2.2 liters’ volume. They have compact size, because these modifications have smaller friction clutches, so it is possible to set such automatic gearboxes in cars, which have longitudinal or transverse placed engines.
Difference between 3 models (GF,MF and LF series)
If you have A6LF1, A6GF1 or A6MF1 then you should change oil every second car inspection. When you have 30 thousand of the mileage you have to change 4 liters of oil, when 60 thousands- you will have to do full changing of oil (7.5 liters). Producer has declared, that the transmission oil is unchangeable, but actually it gets dirty by metallic and friction dust, which can make valve body works bad. Then it getting warm and you get problems with work of solenoids and automatic transmission. Next 50-60 thousand you can get problems solenoids and will have to change it. More seldom you can get problems with friction clutch or moveable shaft of the automatic transmission. Then you have to repair A6LF1, A6GF1 or A6MF1 and change automatic gearbox, what is difficult work.
